Slaptail Nation Presents: Slap Your Tail Comedy

Saturday, May the 4th…
If you know, you know…
Star Wars Show

A long time ago, in a village not far, far, away, a young man dreamed of the ultimate Star Wars Celebration. A May 4th comedy showcase celebration commemorating the greatest artistic achievement known to man. This year, 2024, the dream becomes a reality. Join the showcase of comedians for a night of laughs and fun. Dress up, cosplay, be yourself and come on out for an evening of laughs and socialization with your friends in fandom! Slaptail Nation Presents: Slap Your Tail Comedy

Knights, Lords, Rebels, and Scum (Comedians)

“Liz Eee Calrisian” aka Lizzy King
ADHD fuels Lizzy’s random observations about the world around her and the hypothetical what-ifs that keep her up at night; such as her life long “Roman Empire” of pontificating on how she would navigate a legitimate body swap situation, (depending on the origin of said body swap of course), or which 90s movie Dad she would take as her own (100% Rick Moranis from HISTK or Little Giants). When not taking extended breaks from telling jokes, Lizzy can be found getting weird on stage with fellow members of Kalamazoo’s premier improv group Crawlspace Eviction, teaching impressionable young minds the tenets of improv comedy, and navigating the joyous throes of Motherhood.

“Nolan Ren” aka Nolan Reilly
A 9 year veteran of Kalamazoo comedy, Nolan blurs the line between observational comedy and just being an asshole

“The Samdalorian” aka Sammi McCrorey
“Meet Kalamazoo’s own Sammi McCrorey, 5 feet of  laughter-inducing chaos! She’s been hosting, producing and preforming comedy in the Kalamazoo area for 8 great years. Currently she hosts a standup open mic show the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month at Brewery Outré on Harrison Circle by Louie’s Trophy House downtown. Be warned, her wit is as sharp as a pun-filled sword, and her charm is more infectious than a catchy meme. Embrace the unpredictable rollercoaster of humor and unforgettable moments with this delightful goofball by your side. Laughter guaranteed, sanity optional!”

“Kyber Christa,” aka Christa Wright
Armed with a little bit of silly and a whole lot of sass, Christa Wright brings laughs to every stage. Originally from out in the sticks, the former theater kid brings those two drastically different world together to craft a comedic cocktail for the ages. Whether discussing dating, the terrible twenties, or just general goofiness, Christa has audiences fall for every apparent charm.

“Puff Highwalker” aka Eric Orive
Eric has performed with various regional companies with Shakespeare, a part of a cannabis friendly improv troupe in Detroit and has performed stand up in various areas including Windsor Canada, London,  NYC,  and various areas of the Midwest.

“Carl Han Sobel” aka Carl Sobel
When Carl’s dreams of being a professional rock-climber came to an end, he turned to stand-up comedy and never looked back.  The West Michigan everyman that craves spontaneity, Carl’s storytelling mixed with off the cuff tangents will keep you laughing at all his misadventures.  In addition to appearing on many shows throughout Michigan, he has also appeared at Dr. Grins, Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle, and Laughfest.

Host: The Beaveman aka Darth Beaver

Little is known about the Beaveman prior to 1991 when the first rumored sightings were reported. His movements were tracked from Ft. Benning, GA to Darmstadt, Germany. He then resurfaced at Ft. Bragg, NC. Much like the Mothman of WV, sightings were sporadic from that time until the early 2000’s. Rumors surfaced of a similar individual, but no sightings were truly confirmed until audio evidence emerged in July of 2018 in the form of a comedy podcast known as The Slaptail Squad. It was confirmed that the illusive individual known as the Beaveman truly existed. The Beaveman has been doing mics throughout west Michigan and is the producer and host of Slap Your Tail Comedy. Catch a sighting of him if you can.
