About The Venue
Crawlspace Comedy Theatre is a space dedicated to building community through scene-based comedy. When you come to the theatre, you’ll primarily experience great improv or sketch comedy that explores this wacky world that we all find ourselves on. The theatre is also ideal for music events and social gatherings. We love welcoming community groups in to use the space.
A bit about the building that we’re located in: the historic First Baptist Church was built in 1853 and is is the oldest public building in Kalamazoo. Performing here gives our audiences the opportunity to experience comedy in a unique and convenient, downtown location. The building itself is managed by the Kalamazoo Non-profit Advocacy Coalition (KNAC), focused on performing arts and entrepreneurial incubation. Meter parking downtown is FREE after 5 p.m. on Friday and all day Saturday.
Quick parking can be found on West Michigan Right outside of the Crawlspace Theatre, on S. Church Street right next to the venue, and at Bronson Park, which is directly behind our venue.
