Bits & Giggles
Bits ‘N Giggles is a two-person musical improv group featuring Kristin Hirsch(ComedySportz, The Comedy Project) and Joe Anderson(The Second City, The Comedy Project). Accompanied on piano by Bill Scanlon(The Comedy Project), Bits ‘N Giggles takes a one word suggestion from the audience and then creates 3 mini-musicals.
Blunder Bus
High-energy games and fun characters are front and center with Blunder Bus as they find the hilarity in everyday life! This team performed double duty at last year’s Fest and they’ll bring 200% this year. *Honk Honk*
Breaking (the) News
This cracked news team will be skewering the local, national and global news stories of the day…but at NIGHT!
You’ll pick the headlines, they’ll improvise their way through some investigative retorting.
Canned Champagne
Described as “an eclectic group of improv-ers…a variety pack, if you will,” Canned Champagne is classy, yet down to earth; effervescent, yet digestible; bursting with flavor, yet sturdy in their aluminum casing. Graduates of the Crawlspace Comedy Theatre improv program, this group is ready to have fun and get silly!
Crawlspace Eviction
Since 2003, Crawlspace Eviction has been delivering laughs, chortles and guffaws to Kalamazoo.
What happens when what’s next is ANYBODY’s idea? Get ready for a side-splitting, fun time!
Devil’s Daughter
Devil’s Daughter are an iO Chicago Harold team. They were formed in January of 2014, they were voted best new team in 2014 and nominated for best team in 2015 and 2017. They won best team in 2017.
They’ve consistently been a KIF fest Fave multiple years!
Honk if You’re Henry
Returning to KIF after their 2022 debut, this trio describe themselves as “deep dish Detroit-style comedy troupe with a crispy cheese-covered crust and slathered in silly sauce.” You may know this team from their podcast Dead Waves, which has featured Crawlspace Eviction and Oh Hey!
Hot & Delicious
Looks good. Tastes good. Must be ok.
The most tasteful improv team their side of the Kalamazoo river, these guys are just happy to have passed the drug test to qualify for this festival.
With a devoted fan base in Kalamazoo we’re excited to have them tonight at the Kalamazoo Improv Fest!
Joyce II Men
Joyce II Men is a Kalamazoo-based improv comedy troupe founded in 2019 by Bryce, Wallace, Joyce, Joel, Jay, and Peter. They are known for their quick wit, ability to think on their feet, and their willingness to take risks. They are also known for their occasional bouts of poor judgment, which often leads to hilarious results.
Kevin Reome
WMU Bronco Alumn, Kevin Reome, has put together a a team of talented improvisors and bringing them back to Kalamazoo. Kevin has been performing and teaching improv since the mid 1990s and we’re excited to have him back!
The Mermaids
We’re excited to announce one of Chicago’s hottest new improv teams The Mermaids will be performing at the fest.
The Mermaids are a high energy, chaos filled, group of besties! Come watch as they make you laugh and each other laugh even more. This group of sexy weirdos love to show off their group mind and range of hilarious characters. They have performed at the Orlando Comedy Festival, The Second City, iO Theater, The Annoyance Theater and BOOM Chicago in Amsterdam.
Oh Hey
Tanja Rowland (Family Secret) and Sara Fish (Small Victories) join forces as the delicious duo, Oh Hey!
Pants
We’re not slacks, and we’re definitely not trousers–but we are Pants! Sewn from friendships made at Crawlspace Theatre in Kalamazoo and The Comedy Project in Grand Rapids, Pants formed one leg at a time to deliver on-the-fly comedy that seamlessly combines the absurd, the eclectic–sometimes even letting out the taboo. For a compleat improv comedy experience, Pants has got you covered from the waist down. Buckle up!
Pop Scholars
Returning to to the Kalamazoo Improv Fest stage are fest faves Pop Scholars!
This team is “wicked smart and stupid funny”!
Seriously, they’re super smart….and you’ll laugh a ton!
Riddled With English
Formed in 2022 from the Crawlspace Comedy Improv School, get ready for BIG CHARACTERS and fun voices with Riddled with English!
She’s Boygan
She’s Boygan has a population of two midwest pale ladies, Jackie Wiles and Sarah Shockey.
These two ladies found each other in the freezing Chicago winter and due to their MI roots, instantly formed a “True Mitten” state connection.
This two prov powerhouse is sure to bring a smile to your face whether it be with funny characters, songs or even uncomfortably good sexy dancing. Welcome to She’s Boygan!
Superstar Super Show wsg Barry Ross
This improv show combines elements of an interview style talk-show with high energy improv comedy to create an always entertaining night of comedy and community.
And we’re excited to have Barry Ross as our special guest!
Ross is Emeritus Professor of Music from Kalamazoo College, where he founded the Kalamazoo College and Community Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra, now the Kalamazoo Philharmonia. He has appeared as Conductor, Concertmaster and Violin Soloist all over the country.
The Guys Upstairs
GUS Have been performing together since 2019 but also long before that in various combinations. Long form, short form, game show .. they’ve done it all. They are super excitied to perform for the first time at the Festival!
TORP
TORP will thrill you with fits of laughter, amaze you with daring hilarity, and wow you with impressive feats of strength. OK, not so much with the feats of strength, but definitely the other two.
This Benton Harbor team is debuting at KIF.
Two Many People…
Two Many People (Thanks for Everything) is compiled of two people, Mike Jimerson and Damian Anaya, longtime friends, improvisers, and nothing else. Veterans of the Chicago Improv scene, they’ve regularly performed at The Second City, iO, The Annoyance theaters, and any other space that would have them over the past decade and a half. Longform improv at its finest and most delicate.
