TICKET QUESTIONS

How do I get tickets?

Tickets (for all types) can be purchased online from our website. While Single Session tickets may be purchased at the door, we anticipate selling out and recommend purchasing tickets online to ensure availability.

Can I use my Friday Day Pass for Saturday instead (and vice-a-versa)?

No. You must use the purchased ticket for the day for which they are purchased.

What is the difference between Fest Pass tickets & VIP tickets?

Fest Pass tickets get you in the gate to the fest for all 3 days of comedy sessions. Seating is not reserved.
VIP Pass also get you access to all 3 days of comedy, as well as, reserved seating, a t-shirt, and an invite to a post event wrap party Friday & Saturday night.

Are VIP tickets available?

Yes, VIP ticket options are available for purchase. Please see our Tickets page for current pricing and availability.

Does the Fest accept credit cards or checks at the gate?

The Improv Fest accepts cash and credit card for admission tickets. Checks, if you must.

What if I can't find my tickets?

The easiest way to get your tickets is to find your email order confirmation; tickets are usually attached as a PDF file you can print. Can’t find them, or other questions please contact us using this form.

We will be able to look your tickets up at the door with a valid ID matching the purchase order.

Is the event family friendly?

While we do not have an age requirement we do not censor the language or topics explored. We recommend that young adults be at least 15 years of age. Must be 21 or older with valid ID to purchase or consume alcohol.

How do I get to the Improv Fest?

Crawlspace Comedy Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo. We are located at :

Where can I stay for the weekend?

Check out the local hotels through the Downtown Kalamazoo Travel and Tourism website.

What public transportation options are there for the Fest?

For Regional Transit rates and bus and train schedules, please visit the KMetro website. There is no additional bus or light rail services from Crawlspace Comedy Theatre to nearby hotels or airports. Kalamazoo Improv Fest tickets are not valid as a form of payment for Regional Transit.

PARKING

How much is parking?

Free parking is available along the city streets in downtown Kalamazoo. Free parking is subject to availability.
Parking can also be acquired at multiple parking structures walking distance to Crawlspace Comedy Theatre.

Is there handicapped parking?

Yes. Handicap parking can be found in the nearby parking structures as well as city street parking. Handicapped parking is limited and is on a first-come-first-served basis. Please arrive early to ensure a parking spot. A map to these areas may be found on the Directions & Parking page.

Is there motorcycle parking?

There will not be any motorcycle specific parking. Parking is available on city streets and in nearby parking structures.

Can I go out to my car and re-enter the Improv Fest?

Yes, keep your ticket with you before leaving.

Is there bicycle parking?

Yes, FREE bicycle parking is available on city sidewalks.

WHAT CAN I BRING?

Are coolers and/or backpacks permitted?

Due to security concerns, coolers, backpacks and large bags ARE NOT permitted on the show site.
All personal handbags, totes, diaper bags, etc. are subject to search at the entry gates.

Are pets allowed?

For the safety of attendees and the animals, pets are not allowed on show grounds. Certified service animals are permitted, this does not include companion animals.

Are cameras and video recorders allowed?

Yes, cameras and video recorders are allowed.

Are ATMs available?

Multiple ATMs are available at financial institutions in downtown Kalamazoo. There is not one located at Crawslspace Comedy Theatre. The theatre does accept cash and all major credit cards.

FEST QUESTIONS

What is an improv fest?

An improv fest is a showcase of multiple improv teams over the course of multiple days. Teams perform in designated shows. It is not a competition. It’s a chance for patrons to see a variety of improv styles all in one condensed experience. It’s also a chance for the improvisors themselves to see the variety of styles and interact with fellow improvisors. Workshops are held to give both experienced improvisors and people with no improv experience a chance to learn this exciting artform from top-notch instructors.

When is the festival?

November 2, 3, & 12, 2022

What time do the gates open and close?

Festival doors open at 4:30 p.m. Friday & Saturday. Single session goers will be allowed entry 30min prior to session start time. Sessions are at 5:30pm, 7:30pm, and 9:30pm Friday and Saturday.

 

On Thursday doors will open at 6:30pm.

May I leave and re-enter the festival?

Yes, keep your ticket with you before leaving.

What is the performer schedule?

A list of performers is listed on the Performers page. The festival schedule is located on the Schedule Page.

Is the festival the same for both days?

NO! Friday and Saturday showcase different improv teams. More information may be found on our Performers & Schedule page.

Are smoking areas available?

Smoking is not allowed inside the theatre, lobby, or public use areas. Smoking is allowed outdoors, at least 20 feet from the doors.

Can I meet the actors?

Yes! Many of the improv actors will be available throughout the festival and may make themselves available for photos and/or autographs. If you are able to acquire a VIP Fest Pass you will be invited to a wrap party both nights and have plenty of face-time with many of the improvisors.

Do I need hearing protection (ear plugs)?

We do not anticipate this. We do not amplify voices, or use microphones during the festival. Luckily the theatre is intimate and actors can be heard from all areas of the venue.

Is the show handicap accessible?

Yes. The theatre space is ADA compliant.

Will the Improv Fest be televised?

The Improv Fest will not be televised and unauthorized broadcast of the show is prohibited. To see all aspects of the Improv Festival, you need to attend.

What happens if it rains?

Luckily we’re indoors and this isn’t a problem.

Are vegetarian or vegan foods available?

The master concessionaire makes every effort to ensure menu items are suitable for all guests.

What food is available at the Improv Fest?

While the theatre will have snacks and candy available, if you require something more substantial we recommend enjoying a meal at one of the many restaurants in downtown Kalamazoo. You can search the Downtown Kalamazoo Travel and Tourism website

What are recommended items to bring to the Fest?

Good humor, hearty laughs, and friends.

What items are prohibited from being brought into the theatre?

Negative attitudes, broadswords, poison, kites, lumber, tasers, tubas, tubers, anything hotter than 198 degrees F, inflatables, deflatables, illicit drugs, explicit drugs, implicit drugs, unfurled flags of any sort, stilts, scythes/sickles, anything pneumatic or hydraulic, light sabers, smelters, owls…do we need to continue?
